Het Nieuwsblad: 'De groep is meer dan terecht Big in Belgium en de Marquee stond helemaal vol. Absynthe Minded speelde een foutloos concert. En vooral: de groep vatte Rock Werchter 2010 perfect samen. Zomerse pop, stevige rock, een brok jazz en intieme momenten.'
De Morgen: 'In de beste zigeunertraditie paarde de band weemoed aan euforie, wat het oudere I Am a Fan tot een van de vele hoogtepunten maakte. Cactus Festival
De Morgen: 'Niet alleen exotiek sprak de fijnproevers van Cactus dit jaar aan: ook binnenlandse acts als Absynthe Minded (HHHH) en Balthazar (HHHH) maakten grote sier. Beide bands bevestigden op Cactus hun status van spannendste Belgische groep op dit ogenblik.'
Nieuwe single 'Papillon'

Absynthe Minded will play @ Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring
Absynthe Minded has been confirmed for 2 German top-festivals: Rock Im Park (June 4th - 3h15Pm - Club Stage) and Rock Am Ring (June 6th - 3h45PM - Club Stage).
Later this summer, Universal Germany will be releasing the single (Envoi) and the 4th Absynthe Minded album in Germany.

Platina plaat voor Absynthe Minded
Absynthe Minded kreeg uit handen van Minister van Cultuur Joke Schauvliege haar eerste platina plaat uitgereikt, voor de verkoop van meer dan 30.000 cd’s van hun vierde album ‘Absynthe Minded’. Dat gebeurde op de opening van het vernieuwde Muziekcentrum.
De band sloot haar Belgische clubshow af met een uitverkochte AB (Brussel) en twee uitverkochte optredens in Vooruit (Gent) stond de band in een uitverkochte grote zaal van de AB in Brussel.

Absynthe Minded bracht deze week de waardige opvolger voor "Envoi", "Moodswing Baby". Het nummer werd tijdens de week van de Vlaamse Muziek officieel voorgesteld op Studio Brussel in "Tomas Staat Op". Stemmen op De Afrekening dus maar!
Absynthe Minded wins 4 Music Industry Awards
After signing a contract with the French label AZ (Universal) in october 2009, Absynthe Minded hasn't been out of the picture for one moment. The hitsingle "Envoi" played on each radiostation and the clubtour in Belgium and The Netherlands was totally sold out.
2009 was a brilliant year for Absynthe Minded and so judged the Belgian audience and music industry. They all voted for Absynthe Minded during the Music Industry Awards and so the band became the great winner. They won in all major categories: best group, best album, best single of the year and best rock alternative.
Absynthe Minded : de grote winnaar met maar liefst vier Mia's
Absynthe Minded was de grote winnaar op de Mia's (Music Industry Awards). Ze kaapten de vier hoofdprijzen weg: beste groep, beste album, beste rock/alternative en de award "hit van het jaar" voor de single "Envoi". Het was de ultieme bekroning voor Absynthe Minded die op een fantastisch jaar 2009 kan terugblikken.
Met hun vierde album behaalden ze snel goud en is platina niet veraf meer. In oktober sleepten ze een labeldeal in de wacht bij het Franse AZ (Universal) voor de wereld (uitgezonderd België en Nederland). De single "Envoi" werd platgedraaid op alle radiostations en de clubtours in België en Nederland raakten in een mum van tijd uitverkocht.
Volgens sommige kwaliteitskranten behoort Absynthe Minded nu echt tot de top van België. Na de Mia's verschenen dan ook enkel lovende artikels, bijvoorbeeld dit pareltje uit De Standaard:

Absynthe Minded signed contract with AZ (Universal)
Absynthe Minded signed a contract with the French label AZ (Universal) for the world (except Belgium and The Netherlands). Their latest album with the hitsingle "Envoi" will be released in France the 22nd of April.
Absynthe Minded Gold in Belgium
The fourth selftitled Absynthe Minded album reached gold in Belgium. The
album was sold exclusively with the magazine "Humo" in the week from
18th to 25th of august. In that week more than 16.000 albums were sold,
which means a golden record in Belgium! It's the second golden record
for the band, their 2nd album "New Day" (including the hit "My Heroics,
Pt One") reached the same status. Because of a high demand, the album
will be re-released, and from the 30th of october it will be available
in the shops and on the internet. Later this year the album will be released in the Netherlands (9th of november) and Germany.In France
"Absynthe Minded" should come out in the beginning of 2010. At present,
AM is working on a release in the UK, Spain and Italy.
Het vierde album van Absynthe Minded, simpelweg getiteld Absynthe Minded heeft goud gehaald.
Het
album kon in de week van 18 t/25 augustus exclusief via Humo gekocht
worden. In die week zijn er meer dan 16.000 albums verkocht, een gouden
status dus ! Dit is de tweede gouden plaat voor de band. Hun album
‘’New Day’’ behaalde dezelfde status, grotendeels dankzij de radio hit
‘’My Heroics, part one’’. Vanwege de grote vraag zal de CD vanaf 30
oktober ook in de winkels en online te koop zijn.
Deze re-release valt samen met de start van een clubtour. Later dit
jaar komt de CD ook uit in Nederland en Frankrijk, zeer waarschijnlijk
ook in Duitsland. Momenteel wordt er ook gewerkt aan een release in UK,
Spanje en Italië.

'Envoi' nieuwe single Absynthe Minded
'Envoi' is de 2de single uit de nieuwe CD van Absynthe Minded. 'Envoi' is ook de naam van een gedicht van Hugo Claus, Bert vertaalde en bewerkte de tekst naar het Engels. Dat gebeurde initieel op uitnodiging van Poetracks, een initiatief in Nederland waarbij singersongwriters gevraagd werd in hommage aan Claus een gedicht van hem op muziek te zetten. Nieuw album uit op 18 augustus
Op 18 augustus ligt de nieuwe Absynthe Minded in de winkel, hun 4de plaat al, deze keer simpelweg ‘Absynthe Minded’ getiteld. De plaat werd in april – mei 2009 opgenomen in de Ferber studios in Parijs, een studio waar oa Nick Cave en Feist recent meerdere platen opnamen. Producer was Jean Lamoot, die in Frankrijk een topstatus geniet na platen met Noir Désir (die met ‘Le Vent l’emportera), Salif Keita, Raphael en recent nog Girls in Hawaii.
